Welcome to the Lucy Brock Child Development Laboratory (Lucy Brock). Lucy Brock is housed in Appalachian State University’s Reich College of Education. Lucy Brock serves as a model and professional preparation site for individuals working with young children. 

Lucy Brock offers a full-day North Carolina Division of Child Development licensed program on Appalachian State University's campus serving children birth through five (5) years of age. The on campus lab includes with two Infant/Toddler classrooms, serving children birth through two years of age, and one Preschool classroom, serving children three through five years of age. 

Appalachian State Univesity and the Lucy Brock Child Development Lab are currently collaborating with the Watauga County Schools and the Children's Council of Watauga County to provide three pre-kindergarten Collaborative Classrooms (Lucy Brock WCS Collaborative Classrooms) at the Blowing Rock SchoolParkway School, and Cove Creek School. The NC Pre-K Program is a state-funded free prekindrgarten experience for eligible children in Watauga County with a mission to provide high-quality educational experiences and enhance school readiness. Each of these classrooms are designed to enroll 18 children and two Lucy Brock App State employee educators.
