Holiday and Weather Closings

Lucy Brock is closed on state-recognized holidays as designated by the university’s Office of Human Resources. The program is closed some additional days to allow time for professional development of staff and staff vacation.

Generally, Lucy Brock will close for inclement weather only when the university classes are delayed or cancelled. Lucy Brock will open half an hour before classes begin if classes are delayed and will also close half an hour after classes are dismissed if the university cancels classes due to inclement weather. If the department or director determines that opening the center would create danger for staff or children traveling to school, an announcement of the closing will be made on WATA Radio (1450 AM; 100.7 FM). In rare instances of severe weather, the center may be forced to close early.
